Le Tambourine

Charles-Melchior Descourtis after Nicolas Antoine Taunay Pastel Aquatint engraving. His works are in galleries all over Europe and America. This one is absolutely delightful as it depicts a loan drummer boy playing a jig for the dressed up dogs and gentleman to dance and entertain the guests. I love the monkey sitting on the back of another dog. The frame on this piece is original to the work but does show wear consistent with age.
