This fabulous Neufchantal porcelain cheese mold is from the late 1800's. Neufchantal cheese is extremely famous in France. From Normandy cows milk it is thought to be one of the oldest French cheese producers, going back as far as the 6th century. It is almost always made in one of these darling heart shaped molds and the holes in the bottom allow for the whey to drip thru. There is one tiny little hairline crack but it has been there from the beginning of the make of the mold as it is in the glaze and pottery. If you are a cheese lover this would make for fun conversation at a party.
